As the end of the quarter is nearing here in my high school Algebra class, we are getting ready to look at growth. One thing I realized early on was the importance of a well-written assessment that provides detailed feedback. This year, we are using both the STAR assessment system to get data nationally, but also administering an in-house assessment tailored to each subject. We spend most of the quarter covering formative and summative assessments and hoping that our systems work for students to retain information long-term. Alas! will it be true?! Anyone else get nervous/excited to see the results?!
